Swabhaasha Telugu Keyboard app for iPhone and iPad

Swabhasha is a new telugu transliteration keyboard that lets you type phonetically in English and converts it to Telugu. It is designed in mixed language mode so that you can use the keyboard for regular use to type in English. The telugu transliteration is presented as a suggestion atop the keyboard and you just tap it to replace the phonetic English spelling.

As you type the telugu word appears on the top bar and the english letters appear in the application. After typing a word you can simply tap the telugu word to replace the english text in the application or press space to keep the english text.


MIXED MODE TYPING:
Most of us use a combination of English and telugu words in midst of sentences, whether we are chatting on email, iMessage, WhatsApp, facebook or anyother app. Moreover, when we type phonetically in telugu we are often frustrated by the autocorrection of the telugu word. Swabhasha is designed to be your most useful keyboard for these situations.

USE IN ALL APPS:
The swabhasha keyboard can be used to type in telugu in any of your apps including contacts ( you can have a contact for amma, for example), remainders, notes, email and a bunch of social networking sites. Please note that you cannot use the keyboard to enter passwords.

PREDICTIVE PROMPTS
The keyboard has prompts for the telugu letters you are typing. For example, if you are trying to type (taaTipanDu) you can choose (ta) for the first t and (Ta) for the second t and as you type. Similarly if you type r you will be immediately prompted for three different r sounding letters in telugu.


AUTOCORRECTION FOR ENGLISH:
You can use the Swabhasha keyboard as a normal keyboard to type in English. It will take care of (to the most extent) spelling corrections and capitalizations. In general Swabhash could be your default keyboard for your ios device.


SIMPLE NOTE PAD

The app also comes with a simple notepad which you can use to type in English with a normal keyboard and get the results in a telugu. The telugu text can then be emailed or saved to your notes.
Perhaps the best use of the pad is for you to cut and paste a transliterated text in English and get the telugu equivalent.
